Hal Willner and Loudon had a piece of this Sea Chantey thing years ago. From "Rogue's Gallery," 2006.

"Here’s a new song I wrote and recorded with Ana Egge it's called "This Time" and was released yesterday, 1/12/21, on StorySound Records it’s a protest song, “protest” in the sense of stating or asserting forcibly and was written in response to this summer’s national public demonstrations radiating from the murder of George Floyd, there’s much more I could say about it, but better to let the song speak for itself. " - Dick Connette

Hey Gang- We just realized there was a glitch in the packaging of “I’d Rather Lead A Band “ and the page that credits the songwriters was not included in the CD booklet . I am going to burn in hell for this screwup and am doing everything in my power to sort it out but in the meanwhile here is the missing page for those of you who have bought the album already. Enjoy!-Loudon

This live version of “Middle of the Night” was recorded in Belgium at the Dranouter Festival on July 31, 2014. The song originally appeared on my 2010 CD, 10 Songs For The New Depression. What with The Great Recession of 2008 things seemed pretty tough back then and my plan was to offer musical solace to a nation while cashing in on the hard times - win, win you might say. After Donald Trump was elected I found myself finishing my shows with “Middle of the Night.” Again I had a dual purpose - to acknowledge the scary weirdness of the time, yet also hold out some hope that we’d get through it somehow. Now it’s the spring of 2020 and things couldn’t possibly be scarier and we don’t know when, how, or even if it all will end. At this point offering solace and hope regarding COVID-19 might seem like whistling in the dark but, as the saying goes, it’s all I’ve got. - LW3
